Since 1876, Speight's has provided the Kiwi's with ales and beers.
It is known as the "Pride of the South".
Walking up hill in the rain -- the journey begins.
We are off to tour Speight's Brewery.
We are eager to learn about brewing beer.
Historically, coopers made the barrels by hand.
The brewery continues today to use original copper tanks for holding the water,
mixing, and processing the beer.
After the beer has fermented and processed.... it is ready for distribution.
As with any learning experience, it is important to have class participation.
An excellent 90 minute tour of the history of Speight's Beers.
View of Dunedin from the skyway walk from the brewery.
You are looking down to the harbor across the city.
Up hill from Speight's Brewery is
St. Joseph's Cathedral (catholic church).
This city is simply beautiful!
